The secret of perfect dough — soft and stretchy ✨

Good bread starts with good dough. Master these 7 secrets and your bread will be soft, fluffy, and amazing every time. The whole family will smell it from upstairs!

  • 🌡️WARM water — never hotHot water kills yeast! Test on wrist — like baby's milk.
  • 🧂Right ingredientsFlour, warm water, yeast, salt, sugar, oil. Simple!
  • Activate yeast firstYeast + warm water + sugar. Wait 10 min — should bubble!
  • 💪Knead 10 minutesPush, fold, turn. Until smooth and stretchy. Strong arms!
  • 🌙First rest: 1 hourCover with cloth in warm place. Dough doubles in size.
  • 👊Punch and shapePress out air. Divide into balls. Smooth surface.
  • Second rest: 20 minLet shaped dough rest before baking. Patience = perfect bread!

The Touch TestGood dough feels like a baby's cheek — soft, warm, slightly springy. If too sticky → add small flour. If too dry → add small water. Trust your hands! After making bread 10 times, your hands will know automatically. 👐✨

Khubz is the round flatbread that GCC families eat with EVERY meal. With Hummus, with Kabsa, for breakfast — always Khubz! Learn to make it fresh and they will love you forever.

  • 🥣Make basic doughUse the 7 dough secrets from Section 1!
  • ⚖️Divide in 8 ballsEach ball about size of an orange. Equal sizes.
  • 🥚Roll thin & roundUse rolling pin. Make circles 20cm wide. Not too thin!
  • 🔥Heat oven HIGH 250°CMaximum heat. Use baking stone or hot tray.
  • Bake 2-3 minutes onlyBread will PUFF UP like balloon! Beautiful magic!
  • 💨Cover with clean clothStack hot bread, cover. Steam keeps them soft!
  • 🌡️Serve WARMGCC families love warm bread. Reheat 30 sec if cold.

Beyond Khubz, GCC families love Saj bread (very thin, like paper) and Tameez (thick traditional bread). Master both and you become a bread artist!

  • 📜Saj = paper-thinRoll dough VERY thin. Stretch by hand on a dome pan.
  • 🔥Saj cooking panSaj uses curved metal dome (Tabun). Very hot heat!
  • Saj: 30 seconds eachFlip once. Brown spots = ready! Very fast!
  • 🍞Tameez = thick & softBigger, thicker bread. Made in clay oven (Tannour).
  • 🥥Tameez ingredientsSame dough but more water. Softer texture.
  • 🌾Tameez: 10-15 min bakeSlower than Khubz. Result is fluffy & chewy!
