1🪨 Marble Floors

Marble — beautiful but DELICATE 💎

Marble is the most common AND most valuable floor in GCC homes. It is porous and acid-sensitive — one wrong cleaner can cause permanent damage! Follow these steps exactly:

  • 🧹STEP 1: Sweep with soft broomOr dry flat microfiber mop. NEVER stiff bristles — they scratch marble!
  • 💧STEP 2: Barely damp mopTest on your arm — barely wet, not dripping. Use marble-safe pH-neutral cleaner only.
  • 🔄Figure-8 strokes, far end to doorAlways work toward the exit so you don't walk on wet floor
  • STEP 3: Buff DRY while dampClean dry microfiber. This removes water marks and creates mirror-like shine!
  • 💎WEEKLY: Marble polishApply marble-specific polish in circular motions. Buff dry. Floor will SHINE!
  • 🚫NEVER on marbleVinegar · Lemon · Bleach · Acidic cleaners · Excess water — they ETCH marble forever!
⚠️
DANGER ListNEVER use vinegar, lemon, bleach, or acidic cleaners on marble. Even one drop will permanently dull and etch the surface. Marble is expensive — damage = your salary problem. Always pH-neutral only! 💎

2🟫 Tile, Wood & Carpet

Three more floors, three different methods 🛠️

After marble, you'll see tile, wood, and carpet in GCC homes. Each one has its OWN rules. Mix them up = damage!

  • 🟫TILE: Sweep → damp mop → all-purpose cleanerEasier than marble. Scrub grout (white lines) WEEKLY with diluted bleach.
  • 🪵WOOD: Dry microfiber mop DAILYFollow the grain direction. NO water for daily clean!
  • 💧WOOD WEEKLY: Spray + wipe immediatelyWood cleaner in spray bottle. ONE small section at a time. Dry within seconds!
  • 🚫Wood: NEVERSteam mop · Vinegar · Excess water · Soaking wet mop — wood swells, warps, rots!
  • 🟣CARPET: Slow overlapping rowsMove SLOWLY in straight lines. Overlap each row 5-6cm. Far wall to door.
  • 🧹Carpet: Crevice tool for edgesUse the small attachment for corners, edges, under furniture
  • ⚠️Fine Arabic rugs: SUCTION ONLYNever rotating brush head — it destroys delicate fibers!
💡
Vacuum Pro TipsEmpty bin when half full. Check filter weekly. Move slowly — fast vacuuming MISSES the deep dirt. The straight tracks on carpet are the mark of a professional! 🌟

3🆘 60-Second Stain Emergency

Act FAST — stains that set are 10x harder! ⚡

The moment you see a stain — STOP what you're doing and treat it immediately. Every floor type needs a different response:

  • 🟣CARPET: BLOT with white clothNEVER RUB — rubbing spreads and sets the stain. Work outside edge → centre
  • 🪨MARBLE: Blot immediatelyMarble-safe cleaner ONLY. NEVER lemon or vinegar — even in emergency!
  • 🪵WOOD: Blot, dry COMPLETELYNever let liquid sit. Wood absorbs and warps fast
  • 🟫TILE: Wipe immediatelyUse tile-appropriate cleaner. Easiest of all surfaces
  • ⏱️Under 60 seconds = successAfter 1 minute, stains start to set. After 5 minutes, much harder!
  • 🧤Always wear glovesSome stains carry germs — protect your hands first
🌟
The Golden Stain RuleBLOT, never RUB. Rubbing spreads the stain bigger and pushes it deeper. Always blot gently with a CLEAN white cloth (so you can see what's coming out). Work from the OUTSIDE edge toward the centre. 💧

4🌳 Outdoor & Schedule

Outdoor floors + your daily/weekly plan 📅

GCC homes have outdoor stone, pool decks, balconies. Plus you need a smart cleaning schedule to do everything!

  • 🌳OUTDOOR: Stiff broom firstSweep dust and sand thoroughly. Outdoor uses harder tools than indoor
  • 💦Hose or pressure rinseOutdoor stone, tile, terraces — water is OK outside!
  • 🧴Outdoor stone/tile cleanerDifferent from indoor! Made for sun, dust, sand exposure
  • 🛡️POOL DECK: Non-slip treatment WEEKLYWet pool deck + slippery floor = falls! Apply non-slip every week
  • 📅DAILY: Kitchen, bathroom, entrance, carpetsMop kitchen TWICE daily after every cook. Sweep entrance to remove sand.
  • 📆WEEKLY: Deep vacuum, grout scrub, marble polishUnder beds, under sofas, balcony — once a week schedule
  • 🧰Tool careRinse mop heads after EVERY use. Store mop head-UP. Empty vacuum half-full.
💡
Schedule Beats MemoryDon't try to remember everything in your head. Make a small notebook with daily/weekly tasks. Tick each one. Madam will see your professional approach and trust you more! 📝
