Domestic Worker Visa Check in Saudi Arabia 2026 (Absher & Musaned)

How to check a domestic worker visa in Saudi Arabia: MOI/Enjaz for a visa being issued, Absher for iqama validity, Musaned for the contract. Free, step by step.

Domestic Worker Visa Check in Saudi Arabia 2026 (Absher & Musaned)

Quick answer: there are three different things people mean by "checking a domestic worker's visa" in Saudi Arabia, and each has its own portal. Use Enjaz or the MOI visa enquiry to track a visa that is still being issued, Absher to check an iqama (residence permit) that already exists, and Musaned to check the contract and the worker's status with the recruitment office. All three are free, and none of them require you to pay an agent.

Which check do you need?

Your situationWhere to checkWhat you need

1. Check a visa that is still being issued

  1. Open the Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa enquiry service (or Enjaz, which handles visa stamping).
  2. Choose the enquiry by visa/application number or by passport number.
  3. Enter the worker's nationality and the number, then the verification code.
  4. The result shows whether the visa is issued, under process, or rejected.

If nothing appears, the application usually has not reached the stamping stage yet — that is normal in the first days after your recruitment office files it.

2. Check an iqama (residence permit) on Absher

  1. Log in to Absher with your own account (the sponsor's account).
  2. Open the services section for dependants and sponsored workers.
  3. Select the worker to see her iqama number, expiry date and status.
  4. Renewal reminders appear here too — renew before expiry to avoid fines.

Absher also shows exit/re-entry visa status if you have issued one for her travel.

3. Check the contract and office on Musaned

Musaned is the Ministry of Human Resources platform through which all domestic-worker recruitment must legally run. Logging in shows you:

  • The status of your recruitment request and where it is in the process
  • The signed contract and its terms
  • The office you are dealing with, its rating and its licence status
  • Your payment record — and since 1 January 2026, the electronic salary payments you make, because cash salaries are no longer legal

If a recruitment office is not listed on Musaned, walk away. That single check prevents most of the fraud in this market.

What the statuses usually mean

  • Issued / valid — everything is in order; note the expiry date.
  • Under process — still with the ministry or the embassy; typical during the 3–8 week recruitment window.
  • Expired — act immediately. An expired iqama exposes both of you to fines and the worker to detention.
  • Not found — either the data was typed wrong (check the passport number character by character) or the application was never filed. If your office says it was filed and Musaned shows nothing, that is a warning sign.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

How do I check my maid's visa status in Saudi Arabia?

For a visa still being issued, use the MOI visa enquiry or Enjaz with the visa or passport number. For a worker already in the country, log in to Absher and view her iqama status and expiry. For anything related to the contract or the recruitment office, use Musaned.

Can I check a Saudi visa with only a passport number?

Yes. The MOI visa enquiry lets you search by passport number plus nationality, which is the usual route when you do not have the visa number yet.

Is there a fee to check a domestic worker's visa?

No. Absher, Musaned and the MOI enquiry are free government services. Anyone charging you to "check the visa" is selling you something you can do yourself in two minutes.

What does Musaned show that Absher does not?

Musaned covers the recruitment side — the office, the contract, fees, delivery time and your electronic salary payments. Absher covers the residency side — iqama number, validity and renewals.

My worker's iqama expired. What happens now?

Renew it immediately through Absher. Late renewal carries fines that escalate, and an expired iqama puts the worker at risk of detention even though the obligation to renew is the employer's.
