The UAE has more than 240 MOHRE-licensed Tadbeer centres operating in 2026. But unlicensed offices still occasionally operate under the Tadbeer name — usually for a few months before MOHRE shuts them down. If you pay one before that happens, your money is gone and your worker has no legal status. This guide walks through the five-step verification process before you commit.
Why verification matters more than ever in 2026
Since the 2017 Ministerial Decree that established Tadbeer, every domestic worker placement in the UAE must legally go through a Tadbeer centre. That created a strong incentive for unlicensed offices to imitate the Tadbeer brand. MOHRE has gotten faster at shutting these down — typically within 12-18 months — but during that window, families lose money and workers end up in legal limbo.
The good news: verification is free and takes about 5 minutes. The five steps below are the same process our team uses when adding new agencies to gccdomestic.com.
Step 1 — Ask for the MOHRE Tadbeer licence number
Every licensed Tadbeer centre has a MOHRE licence number. It is printed on their wall, written into their service contract, and listed in the MOHRE register. If a centre cannot produce this number on request, walk away.
Step 2 — Cross-check the number on the official MOHRE list
MOHRE maintains a public register of approved Tadbeer centres at mohre.gov.ae/en/services/approved-services-centers-new1/. Search for the licence number from Step 1. If it does not appear, the centre is not currently licensed.
Step 3 — Confirm the centre is currently active
Some centres appear in the register but have been suspended for compliance issues. To confirm a centre is currently authorised to place workers, call MOHRE directly on 600-590-000 with the licence number. The agent will confirm or deny the active status on the spot.
Step 4 — Look up the centre on gccdomestic.com
We only list Tadbeer centres that have passed MOHRE verification. Visit our UAE agency directory and search for the centre name. If it is on our list, you have an independent second confirmation.
Step 5 — Reject any centre that asks for cash-only payment
This is the single biggest red flag. Licensed Tadbeer centres issue itemised invoices and accept bank transfer or card payments. Cash-only requests almost always indicate either an unlicensed operator or a centre trying to avoid the WPS-style payment trail.
What to do if you suspect an unlicensed centre
Report it directly to MOHRE on 800-60 or via the MOHRE app. They take this seriously and follow up within days. Your report protects the next family who might walk into the same office.
